SirsiDynix announces nine new Library Relations Managers
July 19th, 2010
PROVO, UTAH, July 19, 2010 – As part of its focus on improving worldwide customer experiences, SirsiDynix announced today nine new library relations managers who will join the existing team, including Berit Nelson, who will oversee the program as Vice President of Library Relations.
Library Relations are pivotal for SirsiDynix, said Nelson. “The role that LRMs play makes it possible for our company to better understand and solve the challenges libraries face in every corner of the world. Our LRMs not only help libraries get the most from their technology, but they also work closely with our product management organization to ensure that region-specific technical needs are identified in SirsiDynix development roadmaps, and customers have every opportunity technology affords them.”
Nelson, a librarian who has worked for SirsiDynix for over 20 years, is a natural fit to head Library Relations. In her most recent role as Vice President for Strategic Library Development, Nelson’s industry expertise and technical understanding ensured that the company served the library industry in the best way possible.
“Berit is well-respected in the library community because of the way she advocates for customers and understands librarians’ needs. We’ve often joked that we wished there were more Berits, and with her leadership over this exemplary team of LRMs, we are getting exactly that,” said Gary Rautenstrauch, chief executive officer for SirsiDynix.
Nelson rolled out the Library Relations commitment to over 20,000 SirsiDynix library customers who will now receive personal attention from a LRM in an email to customers today. The Library Relations program will be based on four tenets Nelson outlines under the acronym MORE:
- Maximize customer’s current technology investments.
- Organize internal resources to ensure SirsiDynix provides excellent services during complex customer projects.
- Represent customers and their specific needs internally as they impact technology roadmaps and future service offerings.
- Engage with customers, kee on SirsiDynix plans, upcoming trainings, user group meetings, conferences and other opportunities for customers to learn and participate.
